I've spent the last couple of days really trying to understand this.  I blogged about it here http://yhd52754.gaia.com/blog/2008/10/a_bridge_of_sighs#comments and in case others find the economic summary I've given, of what has happened, a bit too serious and depressing, I've pointed them to your excellent stress reliever.

So very true, and so very funny, it would be funnier still, if it was less true.  A sort of hysterical laughter arises.
