This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 27, 2008:
Heart of Gaia
I came across this quote by Einstein which surprised and delighted me, as the man who mapped the universe describes how we are all one and must re-learn to embrace and understand and expand our circle into each others.
Further i was delighted to find so many others finding the same kernel of truth in their own way, in their own beautiful voices and expressing it so joyfully, elegantly, matter of factly and splendiferously. So, here is my compilation:
"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the 'Universe,' a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest — a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
Albert Einstein
Theoretical Physicist
The things that pass for living currently, would not occur in a more connected world. Invest in connection, first to oneself, then to others. Until you can be yourself you have little to give, you need a base to generate and receive. Until you connect with others little can come to you and little can flow out.
Let-tuce make the world an ever smaller place, till the whole thing fits comfortably in each of our hearts. When i was in Yellowstone Gaia showed me her heart in a lovely natural media algea on gravel painting. The Earth has a heart, it can beat in ours.
bliss and blessings, darin

Darin,
Thanks to Laura's blog for meeting you and now thanks to you for meeting 3 new Gaians whose blogs you mention above (I visited all, already knew 2 and am reaching out to know the other 3, all wonderful people as everyone I meet here seems to be).
Thank you for brightening my day. Guess my investment today has been mostly in Gaia. Now I have to accomplish some things for home and business.
Deborah
PS - Is that amazing natural photo from Yellowstone, what you mention above?
Pleasure to meet you too, Deborad! I'm glad I could broaden your circle. Yes, I took that picture in Yellowstone National Park and that is what I am referring to.
